Bloomberg: MTA should build West Side platform

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said last week he supported the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s plans to use an estimated $833 million surplus to build a platform over the old far West Side rail yards. The plan would effectively end, for now, attempts to build a stadium for the New York Jets at the site, something Bloomberg vociferously supported this past summer. more [NYT]
