Retailers target once-shunned neighborhoods

Upscale retailers are starting to move into neighborhoods they normally shun, according to an analysis of Manhattan retail released Friday by Colliers ABR. The Lower East Side, Hell’s Kitchen, Harlem, the Financial District all these neighborhoods once passed over by retailers looking to land in Soho or someplace equally as trendy are now getting a second glance and, more importantly, actual retailers that draw shoppers and diners. more
