Home prices set fastest pace since 1979

Home prices increased 13.6 percent nationally during the second quarter of 2005, according to the National Association of Realtors, the fastest pace since the third quarter of 1979. The median price of an existing single-family home jumped to $208,500 from $183,500 during the same time last year. more [NYT]
