Work starts on new Fulton Street Transit Center

Getting around underground in Lower Manhattan may get a lot easier. Construction of the new Fulton Street Transit Center in Lower Manhattan is now under way, The Real Deal has learned. The $750 million project will improve access to and connections between 12 subway lines running underneath Fulton Street and Broadway, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The new center, expected to be under construction through 2007, will also link New York City transit with PATH service and the World Trade Center site.
