The largest sports facility in New York City could soon matrialize on a 675-acre site next to the West Shore Expressway in Staten Island. It would host what is practically a foreign sport to many New Yorkers: NASCAR. The site, bought by NASCAR’s ruling France family for $110 million, could house a stadium seating as many as 80,000.
