Bloomberg to take greater role in Ground Zero

Perhaps emboldened by polls showing him well ahead as Election Day draws nearer, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Wednesday he would take a more active role in the redevelopment of Ground Zero in his second term. The redevelopment has largely been controlled by Gov. George Pataki, who will leave office at the beginning of 2007, when Bloomberg will still have two years left on his term. more [NYT]
