Landmark nod could stop condos on 37th Street

A 21-story condominium is scheduled to go up in place of the current Sheraton Russell at the corner of 37th Street and Park Avenue. But a state Assemblyman, Community Board 6, and others want a hearing in front of the Landmarks Preservation Commission to get the 1922 building landmarked. SJP Properties bought the Sheraton Russell in 2004 for $40 million. more [NYO]
