Bill would make co-ops give rejection reasons

The City Council is scheduled to consider before the end of the year a bill that would require co-op boards to promptly provide written notices of their reasons for rejecting applicants. Advocates for the current system wherein a co-op board doesn’t have to give any reasons for rejection say the bill would intrude on property owners’ rights. The bill’s supporters nevertheless expect the council to pass it by year’s end. more [Sun]
