UN may lease in Midtown, build in Turtle Bay

The United Nations may have finally decided where to have its temporary headquarters. As part of a $1.6 billion master plan endorsed Thursday by Secretary General Kofi Annan, the UN would build a 100,000-square-foot conference hall on its north lawn in Turtle Bay. The plan also calls for temporary office space in Midtown and for housing the UN library in Long Island City. more [NYDN]
