The rate of foreclosures increased in every borough during October, perhaps a further sign that the housing market has cooled. One in every 10,641 Manhattan households entered some state of foreclosure during October, an increase in the borough’s foreclosure rate from September of one in every 17,737 households, according to numbers released Monday by RealtyTrac. For Brooklyn in October, one in every 1,282 households entered foreclosure, up from one in every 1,529 in September. In Queens, the rate was one in every 1,146 in October and one in every 1,376 in September; for the Bronx, the rate was one in every 1,567 households, and one in every 2,143 in September; and, for Staten Island, the rate was one in every 748 households, an increase from one in every 1,123 households.
