Staten Island track factored in NASCAR TV deal

NASCAR recently inked an eight-year, $4.48 billion TV contract, and the sporting giant’s plans for a stadium on the west side of Staten Island may have played a role in the negotiations. Track developer and NASCAR sister company International Speedway Corporation wants to build an 80,000-seat stadium to host NASCAR races by 2010 on Staten Island land it bought in 2004. more [Advance]
