Silverstein postpones bid for Liberty Bonds

Another week, another fresh wrinkle in the debate over what to build at and around Ground Zero. Developer Larry Silverstein on Monday postponed his bid to get tax-free Liberty Bonds to help finance the new World Trade Center, so he could have more time to negotiate a building timetable with the city and the state. Silverstein also said Monday that apartments cannot be built at Ground Zero another rebuttal to Mayor Bloomberg’s idea to do just that. more [NYDN]
