Greenway to unfold along Queens waterfront

A plan for a greenway along the Queens waterfront that’s been in the works since at least 1992 recently got a jump-start from the City Council, which will provide $500,000 in city money. The Parks Department, too, was able to get an additional $2.6 million in federal funding for the greenway, which will stretch along the East River from Newtown Creek up to 20th Avenue. more [NYDN]
