State agency signs off on new park, stadiums

The Empire State Development Corporation on Wednesday signed off on two new stadiums and a major new park. Construction on the 1.3-mile-long Brooklyn Bridge Park along the East River is expected to start next year, and the first section should open in 2009. The corporation also approved plans for both the new Yankee Stadium in the South Bronx and the new Shea Stadium for the Mets in Flushing, Queens. more [Crain’s]
