A thousand hard hats at Ground Zero in ’06

The head of the Port Authority, Kenneth Ringler, declared Monday that, by the end of the year, at least 1,000 construction workers will be busy at Ground Zero. Five hundred will work on the new PATH station, and others will work on pouring as much as 50,000 cubic yards of concrete in 2006. more [NYDN]
