Silverstein strikes back at critics

Developer Larry Silverstein on Thursday responded to growing criticism over the pace and dimension of rebuilding at Ground Zero. He particularly lashed back at city officials, including Mayor Bloomberg, who claim he’ll run out of money for the rebuilding, default on his lease, and then walk away with more than $500 million. “The claimed windfall is nonexistent,” according to a statement from Silverstein Properties.
