City to reimpose certain property taxes

Not so fast, says the city Department of Finance. The department two weeks ago said it was planning to mail out revised property tax assessment notices to owners of many small co-op, condo, and rental buildings, even as market values soar. On Thursday, however, the department announced it was reversing itself and that it would reimpose more than $90 million in taxes that would have been eliminated. more [NYT]
