A Manhattan Supreme Court justice ruled this week in favor of a group of rent-stabilized tenants in the East Village. The tenants were facing eviction by their landlord, who wanted to turn the building on East 3rd Street into a single-family mansion. The justice ruled that the landlord, however, violated the rent-stabilization code and could not evict the tenants. The landlord plans an appeal. more [Post]
