Attendance at Manhattan open houses increased in late March and early April, according to one new report that tracked attendance at 12 open houses. The increase in the number of prospective buyers visiting for-sale Manhattan apartments reverses a decline seen in late winter, perhaps a sign of a renewed interest as the spring buying season gets under way. Open house attendance was up 16.7 percent, on average, in the four-week period ending April 9 compared to the four-week period ending March 12, according to a report from boutique brokerage Barak Realty. Average attendance during the period ending March 12 had dropped 13.7 percent. more By Tom Acitelli
