One Bryant Park lease may be record

A new commercial record for New York may have been set with a lease at the future Bank of America tower set to open in 2008. The law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field has leased 203,000 square feet at the tower, also called One Bryant Park, for more than $100 a square foot. That’s the highest rent ever known to be paid for so large a block of commercial space. Douglas Durst, the tower’s landlord, was represented in-house on the deal.
