Theater owners in the Theater District have been taking advantage of an 8-year-old zoning arrangement with the city that lets them sell their unused air rights to add to their buildings’ heights. Developers can buy these rights, transfer them to other sites in the Theater District, and then build taller developments than would otherwise be allowed. more [NYT]
