A heads up to celebrities, royalty, Fortune 500 CEOs, hedge fund operators and the real estate agents who serve them: there’s a new boss over at Sotheby’s International Realty.
Kathryn A. Korte will take over the positions of president and CEO at the firm, which specializes in ultra-high-end transactions in major international cities and posh resort areas such as The Hamptons, Sonoma and Jackson Hole, WY.
Korte began her career with Sotheby’s in 1984, working out of their Manhattan office, and most recently headed up the firm’s East Coast operations. In her new roll, she will oversee Sotheby’s 59 brokerage offices and 2,300 sales associates.
She will also serve as a regional senior vice president for NRT, the nation’s largest residential real estate entity, which purchased Sotheby’s International Realty for $100 million in 2004 from its parent company–the auction house of the same name. By Tim Moran
