Bloomberg proposes new parks

As part of his wide-ranging plan to revamp many parts of the city by 2030, Mayor Bloomberg has proposed the creation of a host of new parks and playgrounds to be distributed in such a way that every city resident is within a 10-minute walk of a public play space. Officials said that more than 2 million New Yorkers currently don’t meet the 10-minute standard, which is the equivalent of about a half-mile walk. more [NYP]
