Brooklyn residents are expected to show up to a Community Board 6 meeting tonight to protest the city’s plans to turn Sixth and Seventh avenues in Park Slope into one-way streets. Critics of the plan say it’s meant to speed traffic to the planned Atlantic Yards development, which is to include a Nets arena, and that it will dangerously clog Park Slope’s already overburdened thoroughfares. “This is just piecemeal planning for Atlantic Yards by shunting traffic from one place to another,” said Aaron Naparstek, a Park Slope Civic Council member. more [Post]
