Topshop eyes 600 Madison, Meatpacking and Soho

British mega-retailer Topshop debuted its new Kate Moss-branded clothing line at Barneys’ New York flagship last week to a crowd of eager shoppers. The heavily publicized unveiling could be a prelude to Topshop taking Manhattan — one neighborhood at a time. The retailer is currently looking at six potential spaces in three Manhattan neighborhoods, according to Faith Hope Consolo, head of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s retail leasing and sales division. Consolo said Topshop is deciding whether to lease at 600 Madison Avenue in Midtown; is “wavering” between two Meatpacking District locations on 14th Street “near the new Apple store”; and has put out feelers for three Soho spaces on lower Broadway. more By Gabby Warshawer
