LES/EV downzoning in the works

The Department of City Planning will present its proposal to downzone a 100-block area of the Lower East Side and East Village at a community meeting this Monday. The Planning Dept. first unveiled a preliminary draft for the downzoning last summer. The proposed downzoning would cap the heights of most buildings at eight stories, with exceptions made for developments on wide streets and those with affordable housing. more [Villager]
