East End brokerages enter e-age

While the East End of Long Island may be considered the epitome of sophistication, the area’s real estate information sharing has long been behind the times. But a new electronic listings exchange system is likely to advance the way business is done in the area. Starting this month, RealNet Solutions is offering Open RealNet Exchange, or OREX, to its members. Up until now, real estate companies in the North Fork and South Fork have had to rely on fax machines to transmit exclusive listings, updates and open house notifications to more than 80 other real estate companies’ offices. more By Lauren Elkies
