Queens gets $111M in park upgrades

Southeast Queens will receive $111 million in city funding for the rehabilitation of its parks and 10 of its school playgrounds. The funding comes as part of Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC initiative, which includes making improvements to 290 public school playgrounds citywide. Work on the playgrounds is expected to be completed by 2010. more [NYDN]
