Two Queens parks to receive $80M

Queens is getting greener. The Parks Department promises more than $80 million for improving two parks, under Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC initiative. Far Rockaway Beach, between Beach Ninth and Beach 31st streets, will receive $36 million after drawing criticism for its poor bathrooms and beach access. Highland Park will get $46 million.
