The developer of the meatpacking district’s Hotel Gansevoort plans to build a 19-story, 225 room hotel at Park Avenue South and East 29th Street. Gansevoort Park, a glass and limestone building, will cost about $200 million. Michael Achenbaum, a WSA Management principal, will develop it with Centurion Realty. The top three floors would be open to the public. Prime One Twelve, a Miami Beach steakhouse, plans to open a 10,000-square-foot restaurant and will offer catering and room service. Kim Mogull brokered both the property and the restaurant deals. A two-floor 1,800-square-foot retail space will also be leased. Demolition of the site’s low-rise buildings is slated to begin next month. more [NYT]
