 Midtown’s vacancy rate No. 2 in US

 Midtown Manhattan’s vacancy rate of 4.9 percent in the third quarter was bested only by Charlotte, N.C.’s 2.6 percent, according to CB Richard Ellis Group Inc.’s US National Office Vacancy Index. Nationally, the 12.6 percent downtown vacancy rate was the same as the second quarter.
