Wall Street bonuses expected to fall

Wall Street bonuses are expected to be flat or down by up to 15 percent this year, thanks largely to the subprime mortgage meltdown. Bonuses could hold up for investment bankers or stock traders with no ties to mortgage securities. Alan Johnson, managing director at Johnson Associates, a New York compensation consulting firm, said, We re in that ugly transition year. The last couple of years have been spectacular, this year is sideways at best and next year will be down a lot.
