Developers tout politically correct second homes

Some second-home developments around the country are emphasizing the green and politically correct aspects of their projects to attract buyers. Several ski resorts in Lake Tahoe and Massachusetts will be powered by wind, while a Georgia golf community will allocate land for preservation. Some developments promote philanthropy and community service, such as donations to Habitat for Humanity. Homestead Preserve, a resort in Hot Springs, Virginia, set aside more than 9,000 of its 11,500 acres as a nature preserve.
