Suburban Trump towers offer new options

Just in case there was any threat of a winter sales slowdown at two Trump towers north of New York City, some unique options are now on offer. The 40-story Trump Plaza in downtown New Rochelle offers a “Rent Today, Own Tomorrow” program that allows buyers to lease for one year, with the option to buy at today’s prices at the lease’s end. The money paid during the lease would apply toward the purchase price. For a two-bedroom apartment, the average rent is $3,600 per month. Condos at the tower, which recently held its grand opening, are priced in the mid-$500,000 to $1.7 million range. Seventy percent of the tower’s 194 units have sold.

At Trump Parc Stamford, a “Bonus on Your Bonus” plan offers buyers the option of putting down 5 percent of the purchase price through Jan. 31, with the rest of the down payment due after this year’s bonus checks clear. More than 30 percent of Trump Parc Stamford’s 170 units have sold since the summer. The 34-story glass and steel tower is under construction and move-ins are slated for early 2009. Prices range from $670,000 for a one-bedroom to more than $3 million for duplex penthouses. TRD
