The arrival of a new Union Market in Park Slope South has been heralded
as a turning point for a neighborhood that has long been overshadowed
by its tony northern neighbors. The high-end supermarket is expected to
open at Seventh Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets as early as next
week. The Union Market and other specialty stores could balance out the
disparity between North and South Park Slope. Union Market is planning
additional Brooklyn locations in Fort Greene, Cobble Hill and
Williamsburg.
