The Greenwich Village Society of Historic Preservation has nominated
the Pyramid Club at 101 Avenue A for landmarking. With a history dating
back 130 years, the four-story tenement building evolved from a social
and banquet hall for German-Americans in the late 19th and early 20th
centuries to a music and performance venue. The space opened as the
Pyramid Club in 1979 and has since hosted a broad range of
arts-centered events.
