Apple is reportedly planning to open a store on the Upper West Side at
Broadway and West 67th Street. The building housing a Victoria’s Secret
store at 1981 Broadway would be torn down and rebuilt. The Brandt
Organization built the building, which replaced the Cineplex Odeon
Regency Theater. Apple was reportedly interested in the spot two years
ago but was distracted by creating its flagship store at the General
Motors Building On Fifth Avenue. In the Lincoln Square area, ground
floor rents are about $275 to $300 per square foot.
