Florida-style homes coming to South Brooklyn

Developer Stephen Jemal plans to break ground next month on homes along
the South Brooklyn waterfront that will be inspired by Florida’s
beachfront houses. Jemal, former owner of the Nobody Beats the Wiz
electronics stores, said, “These are great neighborhoods, but their
waterfront is totally abandoned and blighted.” Jemal’s SSJ Development
plans to build 10 single-family homes that start at $2 million in Mill
Basin, and 18 apartments that start at $599,000 in Sheepshead Bay.
