Retail change on Amsterdam Ave

Limited for years to small businesses like bodegas and dry cleaners,
the lower stretch of Amsterdam will soon welcome national retailers in
large spaces. A mixed-use development slated to run between 97th and
100th streets will take a Whole Foods, and is looking for tenants for
its 34,000 square feet of remaining space. Chocolatier Jacques Torres
opened at 285 Amsterdam in November.
