Brooklyn Bridge Park nears construction

Construction will soon begin on the long-awaited 85-acre Brooklyn
Bridge Park. But at least two ceremonial groundbreakings have been
already held since 2001 for a park that has been planned for 20 years.
No date has been set for the start of construction, which will involve
demolishing the historic Purchase Building.
