Greenwich Village residents prep for meeting on St. Vincent’s expansion

The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation is urging residents to come out in big numbers for a Jan. 22 public meeting on the expansion of St. Vincent’s Hospital. As The Real Deal reported this week, St. Vincent’s has filed its expansion plans with the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which must approve the demolition of buildings in the Greenwich Village Historic District. Residents want to scale down the project, which includes 400 to 500 new residential units on Seventh Avenue and West 11th and 12th streets.
