Falling dollar spurs record-breaking year for NYC tourism

A weakening U.S. dollar helped bring a record number of visitors to New York City last year, according to preliminary figures from the city’s tourism office. An estimated 46 million people visited the city in 2007, an increase of 5 percent. Foreign visitors increased by an estimated 8.5 million, a jump of 17 percent.
