More than 200 tenants who live and work at 475 Kent Avenue, the Williamsburg building evacuated by the Fire Department on Sunday, are left wondering when, if ever, they can return to their homes. The 11-story tower is zoned exclusively for commercial use, and the owner was allegedly operating a makeshift matzo factory in the basement. “This is a fantastic place,” said Rob Swainston, who operates S11 Press in his 10th-floor studio. “It’s hurtful to see it described as a flammable matzo factory instead of a community.”
