Shops on Willoughby and Bridge streets in Downtown Brooklyn are closing to make way for a 594-square-foot tower planned by United American Land, owned by the Laboz family. At another group of United American Land properties on Bridge Street, tenants are reportedly being offered money to break their leases. On Myrtle Avenue, between Flatbush Avenue and Fort Greene Park, residents say they must look elsewhere for basic needs after losing a supermarket, drugstore and laundromat.
