Buildings Department plans new concrete safety initiative

Buildings Department Commissioner Patricia Lancaster plans a new safety initiative for concrete operations in the city that will be released on Monday. The new rules and recommendations follow the death of a worker at Trump Soho, reportedly while concrete was being poured. Over the past two years, three workers have died and 16 have been injured during concrete operations. Of the 41 times material fell from high-rise construction sites last year, 61 percent were during concrete operations.
