Downtown building could become hotel

Bonjour Capital and Joseph Chetrit plan to buy the landmarked 5 Beekman Street office building and could it into a hotel. Built in 1883, the 10-story building has big glass dome over its atrium. Chetrit and Bonjour, led by Charles Dayan and Coby Marcos, will reportedly pay more than $50 million to Ruby Schron of Cammeby’s International. The building was just the third in the city to have an elevator.
