Fed cuts interest rate again

The Federal Reserve has cut the key interest rate for the second time in eight days, lowering its benchmark short-term rate by half a point, to 3 percent. Hours earlier, the Commerce Department estimated that economic growth slowed in the fourth quarter to an annual rate of just 0.6 percent, down from 4.9 percent in the third quarter.
