Several Democratic members of the state Assembly voiced criticism of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s congestion pricing plan yesterday, just before a state commission is expected to recommend charging drivers an $8 fee to enter Manhattan below 60th Street. Marc Shaw, the panel’s chairman, was in Albany to seek support before the commission votes today. Concerns were raised about how the plan would be structured, and how the revenue would be spent on mass transit. “I would say that the idea of congestion pricing and the commission’s proposals got hammered, and it was in a comprehensive way,” said Rory Lancman, a Queens assemblyman.
