Downtown might lose a media mainstay when the Wall Street Journal departs from Midtown, but it a big magazine could offset the loss. Newsweek is reportedly close to reaching a deal that would move its offices from Midtown to Downtown. The magazine is working on a lease at 100 Church Street with building owner Alex Sapir of the Sapir Organization. Newsweek’s Midtown building, meanwhile, will get a new glass facade to replace its pre-war brick facade. The Moinian Group is also changing its address to from 1775 Broadway to 3 Columbus Circle.
