Filmmaker Jake Gorst will be screening his film tonight that documents the 1960s Leisurama beach houses, the fully-furnished homes sold at Macy’s to families looking for “escape to a fun, playful utopia.” The 250 homes, which were equipped with a General Electric kitchen, were built in Montauk by Gorst’s grandfather, architect Andrew Geller. The $25 tickets for the screening will help pay for the film’s national PBS distribution.
